Job Description

The accounting manager role is responsible for performing any combination of duties relating to financial transactions, compliance and reporting and supports the Corporate Controller by ensuring the proper GAAP presentation of all financial statements are complete and accurate.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee month end closing activities including the input of general journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and creation and input of accruals, reversing and closing entries.
  • Prepare and oversee customer invoicing, collections and revenue recognition
  • Vendor invoice management including expense coding and payments
  • Overseeing employee expense report submissions and approvals for compliance with the Company’s expense policy before reimbursements
  • Review of semi-monthly employee payroll processing and generation of payroll accounting entries
  • Prepare, analyze and issue timely and accurate interim and annual financial statements
  • Oversee the daily operations within the accounting function and advise Group Controllership regarding handling of non-routine transactions
  • Monitor & analyze accounting data to produce daily/monthly reports for management
  • Assist in establishing and ensuring enforcement of accounting policies, best practices and internal controls
  • Maintain files and supporting records to document transactions
  • Manage the timely response to the external auditors and tax preparers
  • Preparation and management of sales tax, property tax and 1099 return filings
  • Support budget and forecasting activities
  • Assist in maintaining the fixed asset management system, including proper recording of fixed assets and depreciation
  • Maintain good relationships with members of management including developing systems to better meet their needs
Qualifications
  • A 4-year accounting degree is required
  • 4-7 years experience in progressively increasing roles
  • Experience with Government contracting and billing is strongly desired
  • Public Accounting experience is desired
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite and Microsoft office products is preferred
